GIOVANNI MONTRESOR.
I come from a family that has been producing wine for 150 harvests and more My choice, however, was a very personal one: after the first few years in the company, I returned to my grandfather’s farm, where my father had renovated the vineyard 30 years ago. Here I built my project: wines of excellence, in small quantities. With full and concrete respect for the whole of nature.
I have returned to making wine with my own hands, like my great-grandfather. And like I used to, I have returned to loving the earth, from the clods to the beehive. I respect the microfauna, the trees, the hedges. Grass and moss are also useful for the health of the vineyards. Mustard and ladybirds are my weapons against parasites. My certified biodiversity is not a choice dictated by the market trend. It is a dutiful commitment to my land: if I want to get the best I have to give the best.
That is the reason why my wines are a life journey.
PINOT NOIR.
It is a challenging grape variety to cultivate, it requires constant attention and it gives exceptional satisfaction to those who care for it. My love for its complex and capricious personality has led me to explore the homeland and places it belongs to. And to become its ambassador.
